The central EcoRI fragment of this construct, and a HpaI/EcoRI fragment derived from that, contain the sequences encoding the complete polypeptide.
The insert contains 2 open reading frames. Sequences up to a BalI site at 5.5 kb from the upstream region and after a StuI site in the second reading frame can be deleted without destroying the toxicity of the product to mosquito larvae.
